Additions/Renovations
Architecture by:

To celebrate our clients’ love of books, but do so in an understated way, with bookcases that told their own story, was just one of the imaginative solutions we crafted for this project. Another was a ribbon of flagstone inlaid around the porch, conceived as cost-saving measure but turned instead a signature of the home’s entrance.

A foyer transformed from confined and limiting to open, warm, and welcoming brought an architect’s vision to full realization.

“ This Thanksgiving holiday and weekend we had twelve family members staying at our “new” home, with enough privacy (and bathrooms!) for everyone. ”

"This Thanksgiving holiday and weekend we had twelve family members staying at our “new” home, with enough privacy (and bathrooms!) for everyone.  Although others were pleased, Paula and I were particularly delighted with the ability to accommodate everyone so comfortably in a renovation we are proud of.  The renovation was our idea, but the quality of the work accomplished belongs to Rittenhouse Builders. From the beginning to the end of the project, spanning six months, your staff was ready to answer questions, find solutions to our concerns, and give attention to our needs.  There are so many aspects of your work that we appreciate.  To name a few:
  • The contributions of all of your staff – from George’s support to Dean’s oversight of progress, Darrell’s daily attention to details, Laura’s research on products and trouble-shooting, and the politeness and helpfulness of all your staff on the project whether in the field or in the office.
  • The daily effort – I don’t think there were more than four or five days over a five month construction period when someone wasn’t working on the house.
  • The expertise of your contractors – siding, roofing, plumbing, electric, carpentry, tiling, painting and more.
  • The attention to detail and willingness to put in whatever time was needed to do the job right.
We have already recommended you to many friends.  We will continue to appreciate your work for many years to come."
